You shouldn’t need a PhD to build an easy-like-Sunday-morning singing voice

Sometimes we just want to be given the recipe and for the recipe to work.

I know you’ve probably been burned before. And I’m so sorry.

Either you’ve

  • watched every single YouTube video on learning to sing or eliminating strain or “how to sing from the diaphragm” or

  • had no idea where to start so just haven’t

  • paid for lesson after lesson with a teacher and felt deflated because it’s just not clicking

And you haven’t had that exciting moment where you actually believe it’s possible for you.

So maybe you’re losing faith.

Let me put your mind at ease here.

It’s not you - it’s how it’s been explained to you and how you’ve been shown to practice.

So what is ‘breath support’ even responsible for?

Breath support is just a jargony term for the relationship between your breath and your vocal cords.

How we control it, the speed at which we use it and how we feel that in our physical body has a HUGE IMPACT on the sound.

For example, it affects...

Consistency

Flexbility

Resonance (fullness)

Ease

Power

Range

Y'know, basically your whole vocal wishlist.

They all start with how you use your breath (the fuel).

Less-than-ideal sounds and sensations top-notch breath support can fix include:

  • throat tension

  • notes that embarrassingly crack unexpectedly

  • that awful stretchy “will I make it?” feeling on high notes

  • a voice that tires easily

  • shrill, thin high notes

  • unwanted Marilyn Monroe breathiness

  • the crippling self doubt that comes with not trusting what will come out one moment to the next.

If any of this is ringing bells (that you wish would disappear), you are in the right place.

“Just wanted to say a huge thank you again. Today I couldn't believe how easy my singing was and how good it felt, and how much resonance I had.

All your exercises have been great so far, but the biggest help for me has still been the way you have explained and demonstrated breath support (and exercises to practice this).

Now really getting the hang of it and its great to feel the consistent flow of air supporting the vowels as I sing. And I'm now also finding it so much easier to play guitar while singing too, which until now I've found really difficult. Thanks so much!”

“The 30 Days to Better Vocal Support course was so helpful. I didn’t even know I was doing something wrong until this.

The course is so thoroughly built to help people throughout it. I’m still using some of the exercises and techniques from this. Thank you!!”

So what does this magical solution look like?

- A complete 30 day plan to take your old breathing and support habits and replace them with brand-spanking new strain-free efficient ones.

- Every section has it’s own “to do list” so there’s no confusion as to what you need to be doing.

- There are 16 downloadable audio exercises specifically designed to go with your tasks with me reminding you of the super important things as you go.

- You can ask me as many questions as you need to in the course platform.

And you also get a personal feedback session from me where you can send me a video (up to 5 minutes long) of you practicing to make sure you’re getting it right. I’ll respond via email.

Loads of support with no guesswork or anxiety in your corner.

“I have barely thought about my vocal break at all over the past few months! Occasionally it will crop up, but the majority of the time I just seem to sail on through.

I’m putting the change down to your 30 Days to Better Breath Support course - and, shamefully, I only got about half way through!

Having proper breath support explained so thoroughly, and particularly the straw exercises, has just been a game changer for me!

You really are an amazing teacher, and I feel so much gratitude towards you every time I sing.

The first time we met, you asked me what I wanted to achieve, and I said that I wanted to be able to enjoy my own voice. I can honestly say that I have achieved that goal.”

The FAQs

How much time will I have to set aside?

About 30 minutes a day is perfect.

How many videos do I have to upload and when?

You don’t have to do any, but you do have a personal feedback option included where you can send one privately to me (up to 5 minutes long) so I can give you some ideas on how to improve further.

What if I can’t commit right now?

You have access to this course and any updates as long as it exists (which is hopefully years and years) so if life gets in the way, you can come back to it at any time.

Can I get a refund if it’s not the right course for me?

Unfortunately as you get access to all the course material right at the get go, I don’t offer refunds on this course. Please choose carefully.

What if I can't seem to process payment through PayPal or credit card?

Email me (kim@thatsweetroar.com) and I'll sort out another method for you!

What style of singing or ability level is it for?

Breath and support is one of those fundamentals that every level of singer needs.

I find that even advanced singers can benefit from revisiting the way they support their voice and it’s certainly where beginners need to start.

If you know you struggle with tension, consistency or are missing that resonance throughout your range, this will be right up your alley.

When does it start?

When you sign up champ!

Still unsure if this is a good fit for you?

Well if you…

  • Want a fuller more resonant sound but can't quite seem to get there

  • Feel a tickle in your throat or crack on high notes

  • Feel a squeezing of your throat when you sing with more power (even a little one)

  • Know you yank your abdominals muscles in and grip them “for power”

  • Feel a lot of tension in your ribcage, jaw or tongue when you sing, or

  • Know the whole experience should feel so much easier than it does

I really think you're going to want to come along for the ride.
