What would it feel like to ENJOY exploring what your voice is capable of?

Packing your bags and leaving What-am-I-doing-wrong-Land armed with knowledge, options and curiousity.

No more demonising your voice for “not doing what it should.”

No more avoiding practice because it’s too overwhelming.

Your voice wants to be a vehicle for beautiful expression, it just needs a road map.

Which means so do you.

Let me guess…

You’re not gushing about your singing voice or saying a wholehearted yes to creating opportunities for yourself because you don’t trust what might fall out of your mouth.

And you (like 99% of singers) probably don’t have much of a game plan to change that because it seems overwhelming or complicated.

  • Maybe you’re confused about the how, so you simply sing through the song a handful of times and hope for the best.

  • Maybe your frustration around being unable to fix the issues you're facing causes you to be haphazard in your practice and your focus.

  • Maybe you feel like you try one thing for a while, another thing the next week and give up the week after that (in a vicious cycle).

This is a breeding ground for anxiety, self doubt and slow progress.

And you deserve BETTER.

How do I know all this?

I’ve been there? I’ve lived it.

I spent over a decade feeling stupid because I couldn’t wrap my head around the way vocal technique was taught to me and couldn’t fix the mistakes that would happen again and again.

I tried over a dozen teachers, none of which explained the HOW.

Years of avoiding practicing because it felt like banging my head against a brick wall with nothing to show for it.

And I'm passionate about other singers not having to go through the same shame-inducing journey that I did.

So what DOES build the voice of your dreams?

  1. Clarity around what “good” actually means to you.

I’m not interested in teaching you how to sound “good” according to the Technique Wizards School of Musts.

What excites me is finding out what stokes YOUR fire. What sounds give YOU goosebumps.

  2. Understanding what techniques and tools allow those colours to come out of YOUR mouth.

Knowing what you want and knowing how to get it are two very different things.

Your body doesn’t deal in vague instructions like “more power but not from the throat” or “less thin and weak”.

It needs step by step guidance and a deep understanding of how to make it happen. Every time.

  3. How to practice to make it stick.

Our brains are wiley creatures and they like to stick to what is easy. They don’t love change and will always want to go back to the default.

So we need to make sure that the time we’re spending practicing is actually getting us the results we’re craving.

  4. Working not just on your body but on your mind to nip self sabotage, nerves and taking it all too seriously in the bud.

What’s the point in building a voice where everything goes right in your bedroom but it all falls apart on stage or in front of others?

Our thoughts and emotions about ourselves and our voices are EQUALLY as important as the physical elements when it comes to consistency, confidence and pleasure.

This program is for singers who want to start stretching themselves.

Who long to feel empowered when they practice and perform.

Who aren’t sure if they have the balls to show up every week for four weeks, but want to take intentional steps towards becoming that person.

Who aren’t sure if they can build a full, effortless, resonant voice that they can trust, but want to be the person who TRIES.

Who aren’t sure if they can shake the feel of “not good enough” and the self criticism but are willing to put in the work.

This is the moment where you go all in from a place of devotion and tiptoe outside that comfort zone of yours to really see what is possible for you.

Sounds amazing right?

Why is this freakin’ fantastic?

Nail That Song isn’t your run-of-the-mill-cookie-cutter singing program.

Because you aren’t a run-of-the-mill-cookie-cutter singer.

One song. Four weeks. All in.

It gives you a steo by step plan to get more clarity around what “good” sounds and feels like TO YOU.

There’ll be curated technique videos shared in the group each week to build a scaffolding for your song and how to practice.

It’s set up to make sure you don’t just join the program and forget about it.

Accountability is so key to keep you motivated. And keeping you motivated is key so we can show you what you’re really capable of (hint: it’s WAY more than you think).

Having times you have to show up for masterclasses or upload videos in order to get personal feedback means you are less inclined to run for the hills and more likely to impress yourself.

It makes sure you go DEEP.

Our tendency is to get frustrated when we’re doing the deep practice.

We want to move onto another song when something isn’t working rather than solve the damn problem.

This will keep you in it so you get to see the voice-changing impact of this formula and style of practice.

It stretches you outside of your comfort zone.

Being in a live masterclass and recording your practice sessions on video and sharing them inside the private group will do that.

Trust me, this is immensely valuable for a hundred reasons.

You get a made-for-you support system of other singers from all over the world.

I can’t take credit for this. The singers who participate in my group training programs are always just beautiful, encouraging souls who know firsthand how incredible AND challenging this journey can be.

 How does it work?

  • We have a private, uber secretive Facebook group as the treasure trove for your videos.

If you don’t use Facebook, we can work around this but you’ll connect with the community solely in masterclasses (which are held on Zoom).

  • Every week there will be curated technique training videos uploaded into the group.
Each of these explains what it’ll do to change the sound of your voice, how it should feel and how to put it into practice.

  • As well as the video, each week I host a live masterclass where I can help you navigate what’s working and what needs tweaking in real time (y’know a mini lesson of your very own).

  • You also have the option to upload a video of you practicing into the private group once a week.
If you missed the chance to be coached in the masterclass, I will give you personalised feedback on this video to give you clarity on “what next” so you’re never left wondering.

  • At the end of the salon you get all the technique videos and resources to download and keep so you can revisit them again and again to remind yourself of how to coach yourself through any other song you choose to tackle.

 The FAQs

How much time will I have to set aside each week?

Listen, I’m not your mother so I’m not going to set any strict rules here.

But to get the most out of this program 15-30 minutes a day would be the bees knees.

You’ll want to watch the trainings without distraction and enjoy experimenting with the tools and techniques on your own.

I’m really scared to video myself ESPECIALLY if I am sharing it with other people.

I get it. It’s really uncomfortable.

And that’s part of the reason you’d be doing it.

Confidence is born out of building self trust as you stretch. Keeping yourself safe as you do things before you feel ready.

This is a very safe space for stretching.

Unfortunately there’s no amount of practicing and repeating affirmations in the mirror that is going to make you feel ready to film yourself singing and share it in a group of strangers.

But in doing it, you become a person who has done it.

The transformations I see in group training programs is astounding and a huge reason for that is the act of being brave and taking the leap.

I’ve got you. And the group is always other singers who are equally as nervous about sharing themselves. Trust me, you’ll fit right in.

How many videos do I have to upload and when?

In this program contributing videos is NOT COMPULSORY but I would take advantage of the gift of personalised feedback and suggestions from me AND your fellow singers.

Plus as I said above, it chips away at the discomfort of singing on camera and develops a new strain of confidence.

You have the opportunity to upload ONE A WEEK. If you don’t upload it within that time, you miss out on getting my bespoke feedback that week.

See? Accountability!

What style of singing or ability level is it for?

If you already have some technical knowledge to draw from, this is going to be a smoother ride but it’s not required.

I teach contemporary music (pop, folk, musical theatre, soul and rock) so if you’re looking for classical, sorry that isn’t my jam.

Would this still be good for me if I've done one of your courses?

Of course! Though you may know some of the techniques already you'll always get a lot out of personal feedback and coaching PLUS putting yourself out there in a group.

I think so much of the value in a program like this is backing yourself and making the commitment to your voice, your learning and your joy.

Plus the delicious magic of camaraderie.

When does it start?

The next round has yet to be scheduled.

WHAT DAYS/TIMES ARE THE MASTERCLASSES?

They’ll alternate between

  • 8am Sunday Perth time (10am AEST, Saturday for the US and Canada at 5pm Los Angeles and 8pm New York) and

  • 4.30pm Sunday Perth (6.30pm AEST, Sunday 9.30am London, 10.30am Paris)

so as many people from different timezones can be a part of the masterclasses.

It’s my hope that you can attend at least 2 live.

On the weeks that you can’t though I will add my personal feedback and suggestions to your video submission so you’ll always have my helping hand and advice on where to next.

What if I can't seem to process payment through credit card or PayPal?

I created the Nail That Song Salon because

your relationship with your voice deserves to be an empowering one.

I want you to feel capable, like you’re your own best teacher and vocal detective.

To replace your self doubt when you rehearse with curiousity and confidence.

I’d love to stop you in your tracks when you convince yourself that your voice simply “can’t do that” and surprise you that it can.

To show you what superhero tools will fix what you feel is “broken”.

To encourage you to show up for yourself when you feel a tad defeated.

And most of all, I want to remind you that singing can be a truly joyful experience and that your self expression MATTERS.

So let’s get rid of your “I don’t know how’s” and the defeated sighs.

For good.
